Working With Us

Your Co-op is a family of businesses operated by The Midcounties Co-operative, which has been a well-known, co-operative society which through history has always been iconic within our communities.

A career at Your Co-op will give you the opportunity to be a part of something more than just a profit-making business. We are passionate about delivering on our values and serving our communities.

As well as being a part of the cooperative movement, you will own the business you work in. The money we make as a business, the money you help us to make, is returned to our members, our communities and re-invested in our Society.

Our DOES Values:

You will have a voice that is heard! We listen and we thrive on the voices of our colleagues. We ensure all our colleagues have their say through our colleague council.

We have a key partnership with our recognised Trade Union, USDAW, who represent our colleagues.

We are passionate about openness and communication with our colleagues. With our Colleague Connect platform, you will have regular updates and communications from all over the business. The open forum allows a two-way communication for colleagues to ask questions and have your questions answered.

We don’t believe that age determines how valuable you are as a colleague. We pay all of our colleagues the national minimum wage for over 25 year olds regardless of their age.

We truly value dedicated and driven individuals who are as committed to their communities as much as we are. Therefore, you will be provided with 3 paid volunteering days per year to volunteer within the communities you live in and love.

Diversity & Inclusion

At Your Co-op, we are a family of businesses that is committed to attracting and developing our colleagues. You will be a part of a diverse, talented and inclusive team that recognises our colleagues’ individual backgrounds and experiences, supporting us to continue to grow our co-operative movement.

We have a diverse workforce and community where respect and fairness are integral to our values. This is upheld in everything we do from recruiting and developing talented colleagues through to delivering an excellent service to the communities we serve.

Developing Young People

Young people are our future consumers, co-operators and colleagues. As a colleague, you can be part of this through volunteering, supporting activities in schools, colleges and universities. We partner education establishments and deliver employability and sustainability workshops across our trading areas. We offer work placements to young people and to adults, which allows them to develop their skillsets and experience of the world of work.
