About the role:

Do you thrive on turning data into actionable insights? Are you passionate about driving trading performance and uncovering market trends? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you! 

As our Trading Analyst, you’ll work closely with the Trading Manager to transform data into impactful insights that boost our trading performance. Your role will be key in identifying trends, analysing category performance, and uncovering opportunities to maximise sales. By leveraging your expertise, you’ll drive continuous improvements and help shape the future of our Trading team. 

As part of this role, you will: 
Data-Driven Insights: Explore category performance data to spot trends and market opportunities, ensuring our trading strategies are always on point 
Create Reports and Insights: Develop weekly and periodic reports, identifying opportunities for improvement and growth 
Communicate Trends: Share key insights and trends with the Trading team and senior management, influencing decisions and driving performance
Transform Trading Analytics: Play a vital role in our Trading team transformation project by defining best practices, future requirements, and creating advanced analytics using Power BI and Excel
Customer Feedback Analysis: Use customer feedback to inform continuous improvements, ensuring we consistently add value
Support Leadership Team: Provide comprehensive reports and analysis to the Leadership Team and support wider Food Retail central teams as needed

Who are we looking for?

To be successful in this role, you will need: 

• Demonstrable experience of working in a similar role, with the ability to manage and analyse large volumes of data, preferable in a retail environment 
• High level of knowledge and experience of tools, techniques and strategies used to identify Trading performance and opportunities
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
• To be able to use data insight to tell a story and influence decision making 
• To be able to build internal and external relationships with key stakeholders an have strong negotiation and influencing skills
• A can-do attitude, and be able to work independently with minimal or no supervision
• Flexibility to work occasional overtime or evenings when required
