We hope you enjoyed Co-op Fortnight as much as we did! We thank you for your support over the last two weeks and hope that you all continue to demonstrate why working together, we can help one another, even during indifferent times.
Led by Co-op’s UK, every year hundreds of co-ops and organisations across the UK work together to promote co ops during the annual celebration. From helping our most vulnerable communities to supporting our colleague and customer wellbeing. Today we would like to share a few results of the Fortnight with you all.
Let’s start with some of our achievements during Co-op Fortnight:
- 399 1Change ideas provided by members through our Values in Action survey.
- Over £2,000 donated to our re-launched Food Bank Fund helping to support those most in need.
- Over 400 video videos views on our ‘What’s Co-ops are doing around the world in response to the pandemic’. This was an international callout across all Co-operatives worldwide.
- Speaking to over 50 partner schools in our counties about Co-op Fortnight with colouring resources and competitions for children to take part.
- Making over 600,000 impressions on social media newsfeeds to our tailored audiences with nearly 8,000 engagements (likes, shares, comments and clicks)
- 13 pieces of coverage in the media to a gross media audience of over 1.3 million views.
Some of our personal highlights:
We had the chance to speak with 14 different countries around the world to hear what they are doing in response to the pandemic. This is a huge achievement for us on the international stage as a leading UK co-operative with updates from both Bruno Roelants, Director General of the ICA and Todar Ivanov, Secretary General of Eurocoop.
From this, Bruno personally invited our Chief Values Officer, Pete Westall and our Co-operative Social Responsibility Manager, Mike Pickering, to participate in a joint webinar with the U.N. and the ICA on Co-operatives and Climate Action, taking place today.
During this global webinar, Mike will be presenting our Society’s 1Change programme highlighting our strategy to take ‘climate action’, building on the fantastic work that Pete Westall has already been involved with through the International Co-operative Entrepreneurship Tank (ICETT), around our Values in Action.
